Amy Gies
Greetings Chase Community! My name is Amy Gies and I have been at Chase for several years. My career in education started by teaching Kindergarten, and since I have taught all grade levels up to fourth. I currently teach third and fourth grade language arts and social science.

I began my higher education journey in my home state at the University of Montana in Missoula...Go Griz! I then moved to Chicago and finished my undergrad at DePaul University, later receiving my masters in reading at Northeastern University. I love living in Chicago with its endless possibilities, rich diversity, and culture. Likewise, I always look forward to visits back home and travelling near and far in general. I consider myself a world traveler and love to share that interest with my students! This passion is easy to incorporate into all aspects of my teaching and I strive to open the world up to my students.

In my class, I encourage a true love of literature as well as curiosity, respect, and a general knowledge of peoples and cultures around the world. It is my wish for my students to become successful citizens locally and globally.
