Welcome! My name is Patricia M. Lux, known as Ms. Lux to my students. I have been a CPS teacher since the 2000-2001 school year, and I've been fortunate enough to have been at Chase since August of 2013... and I've loved every minute! My official roles are Literacy teacher and World Language Teacher, but the kids might know me as the person who runs the Scholastic Book Fair (the "Book Fairy",) teaches Achieve 3000, runs the computer lab, or greets everyone with a "Good Morning, Sunshine!"
My road to teaching was a long one, but worth it! I went to University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign for undergrad and earned my teaching degree from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. I continued my education with two Master's degrees, one in Reading Education and one in Administration.
My favorite activity is READING...and just about everyone in the school knows this! I try to spend as much time as possible with my husband and three children, but life can be busy! I also love gardening, crocheting, swimming, being in nature, and LEARNING about new things! In fact, I hope my students develop a love for reading and for learning. Those two things will last a lifetime! I tell my students the ONLY thing I want for them is SUCCESS, and that success looks different for each individual student.
