Hi! My name is Ms. Patrycja Mach. I am the middle school math teacher for our diverse learners. I have been at Chase Elementary for 4 years where I had started as a 5th grade language arts and social studies teacher.
I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor’s in Urban Elementary Education. As I began teaching, I continued my studies to best service my students. I have received endorsements in language arts, ESL, Polish-Bilingual, as well as special education. Currently, I am finishing my Master’s in Educational Leadership with a principalship endorsement at North Park University.
I aspire to impact the lives of the students I teach. The American philosopher and educational reformer John Dewey has once predicted, “If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow.” This basic message remains highly relevant today as it challenges us as educators to support our students into becoming successful lifelong learners. As a young educator in the 21st century it is important to help students develop key skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration in order to be globally competitive.
When I’m not teaching or coordinating our after school programming, you can find me out on the lake with my precious pup, Max.
